Blink Camera Flashing Green

You’re checking out your Blink security cam and notice a flashing green light. Don’t worry; this is a common issue and usually an easy fix. Want to know what’s causing it and how we can get it sorted out?

Why Is My Blink Camera Flashing Green?

When your Blink camera shows a flash green light, the internet connection is not working.

There are a few reasons why this is happening:

  • The internet is down, and the internet provider is having issues.
  • Your camera is not getting a good wifi signal.
  • Blink server issues.

How To Resolve The Issue

Most of the time, the solution is a piece of cake. Remember that you might have to try a couple of things before finding the one that clicks. I suggest following these steps in the order, I’m gonna lay out for you. Trust me, it’s a surefire fix for all Blink cameras, whether it’s the tiny Blink Mini, the outdoor-ready Blink XT2, or the indoor Blink camera.

Check For Blink Server Issues

If you’re having trouble logging into your Blink account, first things first, let’s see if the Blink servers are the culprit. Fire up the Blink app on your phone and try to log in.

But if you still can’t seem to get in, don’t worry, my friend. Sometimes the Blink servers need a little break. Just sit tight until they’re back online and ready to rock n’ roll again.

Reboot Your Internet Router

If you’re having trouble with your internet connection, don’t stress! A simple fix could be all you need. Just give your internet router a quick reboot. All you gotta do is unplug it for a sec and plug it back in. Nine times out of ten, this trick will get your internet back up and running in no time!

Move The Internet Router Closer To The Camera Or Sync Module

Sometimes, a wireless internet connection will work perfectly at one location but not at another. It could also be that the camera is too far from the device’s router or sync module. Try moving the router closer to the Blink camera or Blink Sync Module and see if that helps. If nothing works, try the next option.

Power Cycle The Camera

You can easily power cycle the camera by taking out the batteries and putting them back in. Then, wait for 30 seconds or so for it to reboot itself.

Reconfigure The Camera Inside Your Blink App

You can also try deleting the camera from your Blink app and adding it back in. To do this:

  1. Open the Blink app.
  2. Click the settings icon on the top right-hand side of the camera’s display image.
  3. Scroll down and click the red delete button.
  4. Add it back in again as you usually would.

Still Not Working?

If none of the above solutions work, I would suggest reaching out to Blink Support so that they can help you troubleshoot the problem.
